March 29 - Exclusive Secretariat Tram Tour at the Meadow Event Park

Saturday March 29 from 11:00am - 12:30pm

Narrated by Kate Chenery Tweedy and Leeanne Meadows Ladin, co-authors of “Secretariat's Meadow-The Land, The Family, The Legend.”

Hop aboard for the “Hoofprints of History” Tour! See the original barns built in 1936, which are listed on the state and national historic registers. Walk on the grounds of Meadow Stable where Secretariat was born, raised and first trained. Discover the true backstory of the land and the family that produced an American legend.

This is a fundraiser for Secretariat For Virginia, a non-profit working to preserve and promote Secretariat’s legacy.   Tickets are $30 per person and seating is limited. Deadline for purchase is March 25.

DIRECTIONS

The tram tour will begin on the south side of the Meadow Event Park where the horse show arenas are located. Enter at Gate 6 from Meadow Farm Rd. and park in D Lot.

Our first stop will be Secretariat’s original foaling shed and training barn.  Then we’ll go to the north side to visit the yearling barn, stallion barn, the overlook at the Cove where Secretariat played as a foal, and the horse graveyard.  Then we will return to the south side for the conclusion of the tour.

Please be on time as we only have 90 minutes on the property.  Please have your tickets with you.  There will be no ticket sales on site.  We look forward to seeing you!
